Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the child of Peter Silk, an academic, and Ilkay Silk, a multi-talented actor director, producer, playwright, educator, as well as Director of Drama at St. Thomas University. Her father hails from Britain as does her mother, who is the "Turkish English-Cypriot expat." Anna's early memories involve attending rehearsals for plays and observing her mother at working. In her early years, Anna appeared in several commercials. Anna moved to Toronto in November 1999 to further her acting career. She eventually settled down in Los Angeles (California) over the next decade. Seth Cooperman, whom she was introduced to at a Los Angeles actors' workshop back in 2007, became her partner in 2009. Anna has just recently converted to Judaism and the couple married in Fredericton. Bo's similar-sex romance with Lauren (played by Zoie Palmer) was noted in the list of CNN's all-time most viewed TV Couples as well as named the most popular Television Couple of 2013, by E! Entertainment Television. Anna's popularity on the internet grew thanks to the success of the show.
