Reese Witherspoon took her career seriously after enrolling first in Stanford University. Her early successes in her acting career included films such as Pleasantville and Election However, her character in the film Elle Woods was the turning point for her. Witherspoon was awarded the Academy Award in 2005 for her part as Elle Woods in Walk the Line. Her most recent films include Water for Elephants This Means War and Wild in which she was awarded yet another Oscar nomination. Witherspoon also has had success on television as she was the co-producer and co-star for David E. Kelley's Award-winning TV show Big Little Lies. Witherspoon has a father who is a doctor as well as a nurse. Her birth was to Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon March 22 in 1976. She was born at New Orleans Louisiana. Witherspoon is born to an RN and doctor was raised as an actress in Nashville Tennessee. She attended Harpeth Hall, a girls' private' high school. Alongside her acting profession as a performer, she's appeared in movies such as The Dictator or The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. Apart from her acting profession, she's also an accomplished painter and exhibits her work at a number of galleries.
